The APM have been designed to provide a, completely digital, stand alone replacement for the familiar Slope/Height Window Discriminator. It's user interface has the look and feel of a standard discriminator (click here for a demo), so you can get started with it in a minute, yet it provides many more advanced features. It performs signal conditioning by digitally filtering the input signal, it adds advanced template matching to the standard slope-height window discrimination, displays and stores data on a standard PC through the standard USB interface. Its standard input-outputs allow replacing the older discriminators with minimal or no changes to your recording system. Not only that APM can be a direct replacement, but it can also take over several other functions that were performed by other instruments. For new designs or upgrading to to multichannel systems, this is a cost-effective solution, since a single APM module is much less expensive than several classic modules required to perform the same functions. Below are shown the standard recording recording chain blocks before and after upgrading to APM. ![]() The APM is built using a 32-bit floating-point Digital Signal Processor to achieve maximum performance and accuracy in real-time data processing.
